The tables below represent the profits earned by a merchandiser from four new consignments of t-shirts. Each consignment contain

ed t-shirts of five different sizes. If we were to plot each of the t-shirt sizes and the profit earned on each new size, we would get a different graph for each consignment. Almost all the graphs showed some association between the two variables, except one consignment, which showed no association. Which of the following consignments shows no association?

The graphs below are for each table.  Screenshot 1 goes with Table 1, screenshot 2 goes with Table 2, and so on.  As you can see, 3 of the 4 graphs appear to have a correlation.  Graph number 2, however, does not appear to have any correlation.

SOVA2 [1]
So we can set up a simple equation for this, where the word “what” is a variable, x. This equation is 3 - x=11. Then we subtract 3 from both sides, giving us -x=8. We can divide both sides by -1, giving us x=-8. The answer would be -8. Hope this helped.

What’s the value of x?
ale4655 [162]

Answer:

x=12

Step-by-step explanation:

What we have here is a secant and tangent. Using this theorem,

Given the segments of a secant segment and a tangent segment which share an endpoint outside of a circle,

The product lengths of the secant segment and external secant segment equals the length of the tangent segment squared.

In other words,

9(7 + 9) =  {x}^{2}

9(16) =  {x}^{2}

144 =  {x}^{2}

x = 12
