How would you measure the pH of a coloured substance such as red ink.why?
earnstyle [38]
There are 3 possible ways of determining pH.
1. A pH meter, 2. Litmus paper/ pH test strips or 3. Titrations.

1. A pH meter works by sending a small electric current through the solution. An electrical current can only be created if there are free-moving particles such as H+ ions from an acid or OH- ions from a base. The pH meter can determine the pH by how high the conductivity is.

2. Litmus Paper or pH test strips are strips that turn a specific colour under a specific pH. This colour can then be compared to a colour chart which will tell you the pH. The downfall of this method is that the red ink will stain the strip and you will be unable to get an accurate reading.

3. A titration is the best method, if done properly, for determining pH.

I need help completing this table regarding standard solution.
kramer

Answer:

The answer to your question is below

Explanation:

Data

Stock solution concentration = 0.00190 M

Volume stock solution = 10 ml

Final volume = 100 ml

Standard solution concentration = ?

Absorbance of the standard solution = 0.62

Process

A) 0.00190 M it was given in the data

B) 0.62            it was given in the data

C)                  C1V1  =  C2V2

                     C2 = C1V1/V2

                     C2 = (0.00190)(10)/100

                     C2 = 0.000190 M

D)   Ratio = Absorbance/Concentration = 0.62/0.000190

                                                                = 3263.2

Suppose a 20.0 g gold bar at 35.0°C absorbs 70.0 calories of heat energy. Given that the specific heat of gold is 0.0310 cal/g °
timofeeve [1]

We know, change in temperature is given by :

T_2-T_1=\dfrac{q}{mC_p(Gold)}

Putting all given values, we get :

T_2-T_1=\dfrac{70\ cal}{20\ g\times 0.0310\ cal/g^o\ C}\\\\T_2-T_1=112.90^oC\\\\T_2-35^oC=112.90^oC\\\\T_2=(112.90+35)^oC\\\\T_2=147.9^oC

Hence, this is the required solution.

What would happen if there was no sodium potassium pump?
vladimir1956 [14]
The sodium-potassium pump (NaK) is very important for the function of the most cellular process in the body, It's responsible for the movement of the K ions into the cell and the movement of the Na ions outside the cell at the same time.
It's important for excitable cells such as a nerve cell, the pump helps it with transmitting pluses. It also important in controls cardiac contractions and control blood pressure. It plays an important role in maintaining the sodium and potassium balance in the body in the kidneys.So the Cell function will be affected badly if there was no sodium-potassium pump.

Genrish500 [490]

Answer:

200 grams is the mass of 15% of the solution of lime that is formed by dissolving 30g of calcium hydroxide in water.

Explanation:

Mass of solution = M

Mass percentage of the solution of lime = 15%

Mass of lime or calcium hydroxide = m = 30 g

The Formula of mass percentage is given as :

m/m\%=\frac{m}{M}\times 100

On substituting the values in ab above formula :

15\%=\frac{30 g}{M}\times 100

M=\frac{30 g}{15}\times 100=200 g

200 grams is the mass of 15% of the solution of lime that is formed by dissolving 30g of calcium hydroxide in water.
