After reading the contents of the table shown in the attached picture, I am pretty sure that the <span>statement which is the best interpretation of the material presented in the chart is being shown in the first option:  </span><span>Scientific explanations are built by combining evidence that can be observed with what people already know. I choose this option as I recognized sort of 'cause&effect' information.
