To find slope, subtract the y values over the x values over x values, or

y(1) - y (2) / x(1) - x(2) (note that 1 and 2 should be the same for the same points, so like don't put one y value first and the x value for the same point second)

so we can do:

6 - 4 / 3 - - 3 and solve.

6 - 4 is two, and in 3 - - 3 the negatives cancel each other out and make a positive, so we add 3 + 3, gibing us 6.

so, 2/6 can be simplified to 1/3, meaning the slope of the line is 1/3.

Given cos ⁡ ( θ ) = 5/6 , then sin ⁡ ( θ ) = a/b .<br><br> Determine the values of a and b.
slega [8]

Answer:

a = √11 and b = 6

Step-by-step explanation:

Refer to attached picture for reference

for an right triangle with angle θ

we are given

cos θ = 5/6 = length of adjacent side / length of hypotenuse

hence

adjacent length = 5 units

hypotenuse length = 6 units

the missing side is the "opposite" length which we can find with the Pythagorean equation. in our case:

hypotenuse ² = adjacent ² + opposite²   (rearrange)

opposite ² = hypotenuse ² - adjacent ²

opposite ² = 6² - 5²

opposite = √ (6²-5²) = √11

sin θ = opposite length / hypotenuse  (substitute values above)

sin θ = √11 / 6

hence a = √11 and b = 6

A guy wire for a suspension bridge runs from the ground diagonally to the top of the closest pylon to make a triangle. We can us
PolarNik [594]

Answer:

The guy wire lenght is 500 ft.

Step-by-step explanation:

The Pythagorean Theorem says the sum of the squares two adyacent sides is equal to the square of the opposite side.

Applied in this example, we can rephrase it as:

The sum of the square of the pylon height with the square of the distance from the guy wire tip to the pylon is Equal to the  square of the Guy wire lenght.

So:

PylonHeight^{2}  + floordistance^{2} = GuyWireLength^{2} \\160.000 + 90.000 = GuyWireLength^{2} \\\\\sqrt{160.000 + 90.000} =GuyWireLength\\GuyWireLength= 500 ft

Use the graph to find the solution.
DaniilM [7]

Answer:

W(2) = 5

Step-by-step explanation:

Because when you look at the graph, the y value is 5 when the x value is 2.

aleksandrvk [35]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

If a sequence c1,c2,c3,...has limit K then the sequence ec1,ec2,ec3,...has limit e^K. Use this fact together with l'Hopital's rule to compute the limit of the sequence given by

bn=(n)^(5.6/n).

a)

L =  \lim_{n \to \infty} b_n \\\\\\L= \lim_{n \to \infty} n^{\frac{5.6}{n} }

Log on both sides

In (L) =  \lim_{n \to \infty} In (n)^{\frac{5.6}{n} }\\\\= \lim_{n \to \infty} \frac{5.6}{n} In(n)

=5.6 \lim_{n \to \infty} \frac{d}{dn}  In(n)/\frac{d}{dn} (n)\\\\=5.6 \lim_{n \to \infty} \frac{1}{n} /1 \\\\=5.6 \lim_{n \to \infty} \frac{1}{n} \\\\=5.6 \times 0\\\\In(L) =0\\\\L=e^0\\\\L=1

\therefore  \lim_{n \to \infty} (n)^{\frac{5.6}{n} =1
