Find two numbers whose sum is 18 who’s difference is 22
wel

Answer:

The Answer is: The first number is 20 and the second number is -2.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let f = first number and s = second number.

The sum is 18:

f + s = 18

Solve for s:

s = 18 - f

The difference is 22:

f - s = 22

Substitute:

f - (18 - f) = 22

f - 18 + f = 22

2f = 22 + 18

2f = 40

f = 20, the first number.

Solve for s:

s = 18 - f

s = 18 - 20 = -2, the second number.

Proof:

20 + (-2) = 18

20 - 2 = 18

18 = 18

Then:

f - s = 22

20 - (-2) = 22

20 + 2 = 22

22 = 22

Hope this helps! Have an Awesome Day!! :-)

What is the difference between theoretical and experimental probability?
IRINA_888 [86]
Theoretical probability is  what you would expect  the result of an experiment would be. For example if you tossed a fair coin 10 times the theoretical result would be 5 heads and 5 tails, because  probabilty of 1 toss is 1/2 for tailand 11/2 for a head.

I practice however we might get , say, 6 heads and 4 tails
So experimental probability of e head would be 6/10 and of a tail would be 4/10.

in a given binominal distribution, there are 625 trials, and the probability of success is p=0.29. What is the variance?
KatRina [158]

Answer:

The variance is 129

Step-by-step explanation:

The variance of a binomial distribution is defined as

np(1-p)

where n is the number of trials, and p is the prob of success. So in your case the variance is:

625\cdot 0.29\cdot 0.71 \approx 129

(I am intentionally rounding to nearest integer to make the variance a meaningful value, since the events are discrete and not fractional measurements)
