100\sqrt{3} is how long the shadow would be.

To solve, remember the ratio for a 30/60/90 triangle:
short side = x
long side = x\sqrt{3}
hypotenuse = 2x

the short side is the building, which is 100, so the long side is 100\sqrt{3}

Help me please for brainliest!
UkoKoshka [18]

Answer:

1)option b

2)option a

Step-by-step explanation:

1) circumference = 62.8 in

=> 2πr= 62.8

=> r= 62.8/(2×3.14)= 10 in

diameter = 2×10 in = 20 in

2)diameter = 14m

radius = 7 m

Area of the circle= πr² =3.14(7)²=3.14×49

= 153.86

=153.9 m²

Using the geometric mean and Pythagorean theorem, calculate the values of the missing sides. Round your answers to the thousandt
Pachacha [2.7K]

Answer:

a = 9.849

b = 20.25

c = 491.03

Step-by-step explanation:

By using Pythagoras theorem in the right triangle BDC,

(Hypotenuse)² = (Leg 1)² + (Leg 2)²

BC² = BD² + DC²

a² = 9² + 4²

a = \sqrt{(81+16)}

a = \sqrt{97}

a = 9.8489

a ≈ 9.849 units

By mean proportional theorem,

\frac{\text{DC}}{\text{BD}}=\frac{\text{BD}}{\text{AD}}

AD × DC = BD²

b × 4 = 9²

b = \frac{81}{4}

b = 20.25 units

BY Pythagoras theorem in ΔADB,

AB² = AD² + BD²

c² = b² + 9²

c² = (20.25)² + 9²

c² = 410.0625 + 81

c = 491.0625

c = 491. 063 units

How can you use substitution to solve a system of linear equations?
makvit [3.9K]
Step 1:
Solve one of the equations for either x = or y = .
Step 2:
Substitute the solution from step 1 into the other equation.
Step 3:
Solve this new equation.
Step 4:
Solve for the second variable.

Example 1: Solve the following system by substitution
Substitution Method Example
Solution:
Step 1: Solve one of the equations for either x = or y = . We will solve second equation for y.
solution step 1
Step 2: Substitute the solution from step 1 into the second equation.
solution step 2
Step 3: Solve this new equation.
solution step 3
Step 4: Solve for the second variable
solution step 4
The solution is: (x, y) = (10, -5)

What is the quotient of -8(^6)/4x(^-3)
Anna [14]

For this case we must find the quotient of the following expression:

\frac {-8x ^ 6} {4x ^ {- 3}} =

By definition of power properties we have:

a ^ {- 1} = \frac {1} {a ^ 1} = \frac {1} {a}

Rewriting the expression we have:

\frac{-8}{4}*x^6*x^3

By definition of multiplication of powers of the same base we have to put the same base and add the exponents:

-2x^{6+3}

Answer:

-2x ^ 9
