As far as I am concerned Gao was not one of the Songhay Empire's major ones but I bet two answers should be acceptable in this question. I also think that you can include the third option from the scale represented above because Algiers were quite far away on north so they couldn't be the part of the Songhay.

Gao was definitely one of the major city because it was the capital of Songhays Empire. Timbuktu and Jenne were the major cities to the songhays because they were cultural and commercial centers that were crucial to the empire.

Correct answer: Algiers

In 100 to 150 words, explain the political changes from Map 1 to Map 2.
ira [324]
The Scramble for Africa refers to the period between roughly 1884 and 1914, when the European colonisers partitioned the – up to that point – largely unexplored African continent into protectorates, colonies and ‘free-trade areas’. At the time the colonisers had limited knowledge of local conditions and their primary consideration was to avoid conflict among themselves for African soil. Since no one could foresee the short-lived colonial era, the border design – which endured the wave of independence in the 1960s – had sizable long-lasting economic and political consequences. The Scramble for Africa resulted in several large countries characterised by highly heterogeneous geography and ethnically fragmented populations that limit the ability of governments to broadcast power and build state capacity.

September 1962 sovient leader nikita khrushev order what and why ?
gregori [183]

Nikita Khrushchev (1894-1971) led the Soviet Union during the height of the Cold War, serving as premier from 1958 to 1964. Though he largely pursued a policy of peaceful coexistence with the West, he instigated the Cuban Missile Crisis by placing nuclear weapons 90 miles from Florida. At home, he initiated a process of “de-Stalinization” that made Soviet society less repressive. Yet Khrushchev could be authoritarian in his own right, crushing a revolt in Hungary and approving the construction of the Berlin Wall. Known for his colorful speeches, he once took off and brandished his shoe at the United Nations.
