Hiromi sells 12 T-shirts each week at a price of $13.00. Past sales have shown that for every $0.25 decrease in price, 4 more T-

shirts are sold. Knowing that revenue is a product of price and quantity, Hiromi models his revenue by R(x) = (13 - 0.25x)(12 + 4x), where x represents the number of times there is a reduction in price.
Question: What is the maximum revenue Hiromi can generate each week? Show work.

(13-0.25x4)(12+4x4)=2,464
(13-0.25x5)(12+4x5)=3,845
(13-0.25x6)(12+4x6)=2,845
so your answer is 3,845 because if Hirome sells them for $11.75 he makes $3845 if Hirome sold them for $11.50 he makes $2845.80 and if he sold them for $12.00 he would make $2464.00

I need help with this math problem please
Sindrei [870]

Answer:

  • 65 -3x = 55 -2.5x
  • 20 periods
  • $5

Step-by-step explanation:

The value of the first card starts at $65 and decreases by $3 for each of x periods. Its value is ...

  65 -3x

The value of the second card starts at $55 and decreases by $2.50 for each of x periods. Its value is ...

  55 -2.5x

The equation that can be used to find x that makes the values equal is ...

  65 -3x = 55 -2.5x

__

The solution can be found by adding 3x-55 to both sides of this equation.

  10 = 0.5x

Multiplying by 2 gives ...

  20 = x

After 20 30-day periods. the cards will have the same value.

__

The value after 20 periods is ...

  65 -3×20 = 65 -60 = 5

Both cards will have a value of $5 when they have the same value.
