Salt is notoriously dangerous to land snails; however, some populations of aquatic, freshwater snail have brackish (or a mix of
Mashutka [201]

Answer:

The brackish water adaptation is clearly necessary because the aquatic snails need to live in an environment in which the river system has a higher quantity of salt than what land snails can take. I can determine that the environmental factors influenced the inherited adaptations because the second population has a higher salt concentration in their habitat compared to the initial population.

How did Hershey and Chase ""label"" viral DNA and viral protein so that they could be distinguished? Explain why they chose each
vlabodo [156]

Answer:

As DNA contain phosphorus in its structure in large amount, therefore, Harshey and Chase labeled DNA with radioactive phosphorus and because protein contains some amino acids which have sulfur so they labeled T2 bacteriophage protein with sulfur.

So after that they infected E.coli bacteria with radioactively labeled phages and after centrifugation, they have found that pellet which contains cells is showing the presence of radioactive phosphorus and supernatant which have T2 phage capsid protein showing the presence of radioactive sulfur.

Therefore by labeling viral protein and viral DNA they found that DNA is the genetic material not protein.

All foods can be measured on the pH scale to determine if they have the right amount of acidity to support bacteria growth. 7.0
ZanzabumX [31]

In fact, there are bacteria that grow in all kinds of pH, from the most acidic to the bad alkaline. Depending on the pH at which they live, bacteria can be classified as neutrophil, acidophilic and alkalineophilic.

But in general, when we talk about bacteria that are present in foods, they tend to grow in a pH range between 5 and 9, so they are considered as neutrophil. This can vary by species and other factors such as temperature and available nutrients.
