To answer set up a proportion.
You are trying to find how many books are in the entire book given 80% of the pages which is 180. Thus you put 80 over 100 and 180 over X(total number of pages). Then you cross multiply to solve for x.

Remember the formula is/of. you have to put 180 pages over x because u don't know the total. then make that equal 80 over 100 to represent 80%. solve for the proportion how the person before me answered

On the map, the school and the sports park are 12 centimeters apart.
Nezavi [6.7K]

Answer:

15 km

Step-by-step explanation:

On the map, the school and the sports park are 12 centimeters apart.

scale 4cm : 5km

find;

What is the actual distance between the school and the park?

solution:

         12 cm      =    4 cm

          X km            5 km

cross multiply:

4 cm X km = 12 cm (5 km)

X =  12 cm (5 km)

             4 cm

X = 15 km

therefore, the distance between the school and the sports park is 15 km
