What is the purpose of dialogue in a narrative essay?

English

Answer:

The purpose of dialogue in a narrative essay is to give your characters another type of movement.

Explanation:

When you use only actions in a story, it is hard to understand the characters, we don't know what is being said through only actions, and by making them speak, we do. It is always good to make them talk because though "actions speak louder than words" we don;'t know what action is without those words.

Identify sentence as simple, compound, complex, or compound complex
horrorfan [7]

Answer:

Compound sentence.

Explanation:

A compound sentence contains at least two independent clauses (with no dependent ones; if there is a dependent clause included, then it is a compound-complex sentence). There are two independent clauses in the sentence above: Its proprietor, Roderick usher, had been one of my boon companions in boyhood AND but many years had elapsed since our last meeting.

There are no dependent clauses here - both clauses are independent and can exist on their own.

Which sentence in this excerpt from Mark Twain’s The Adventures of Tom Sawyer shows that Tom and Huck are both afraid of Joe?
vagabundo [1.1K]

Answer:

Poor Huck was in the same state of wretchedness and terror, for Tom had told the whole story to the lawyer the night before the great day of the trial, and Huck was sore afraid that his share in the business might leak out, yet, notwithstanding Injun Joe's flight had saved him the suffering of testifying in court.

Explanation:

None of the other ones make sense and it also is talking about Hucks "state of wretchedness and terror" which if you compare to the other sentences it makes more sense to choose this I also got it right on the test.
