What is the definition of the word incredulous, based on its parts?

The meaning of the word incredulous, based on its parts is: "full of disbelief".

The prefix in- is one of the many prefixes that mean "no". So it denies the meaning of the word following it. One example would be the word inefficient. By adding the prefix in- to the adjective efficient, we deny the adjective. If we call a person inefficient, we are saying the person is "not efficient", not able to finish tasks in a proper time and manner.

As for the other part of the word we're analyzing here, "credulous" comes from the Latin word "credere", which means "believe". A credulous person is a person who believes in things easily, without questioning or reasoning.

By putting in- and credulous together, we form "incredulous", or "not credulous". So an incredulous person is a person who does not believe easily - who is full of disbelief.

Answer:

Read the poems below and answer the question that follows.

“The Taxi”

by Amy Lowell

When I go away from you

The world beats dead

Like a slackened drum.

I call out for you against the jutted stars

And shout into the ridges of the wind.

Streets coming fast,

One after the other,

Wedge you away from me,

And the lamps of the city p rick my eyes

So that I can no longer see your face.

Why should I leave you,

To wound myself upon the sharp edges of the night?

“Where Have You Gone”

by Mari Evans

Where have you gone

with your confident

walk with

your crooked smile

why did you leave

me

when you took your

laughter

and departed

are you aware that

with you

went the sun

all light

and what few stars

there were?

Where have you gone

with your confident

walk your

crooked smile the

rent money

in one pocket and

my heart

in another . . .

In your notebook identify the function of each correct transition signal in learning task 7
gladu [14]

Hello. Your question is incomplete and I would need more information to answer it accurately. However, to help you out, I'm going to show you what a transition signal is and some functions that they can get. I hope it helped you.

Transition signs are words, or sentences, that make connections between phrases, promoting cohesion in the text, where everything that has been written is related and fluid.

Transition signs can have many functions such as indicating the time the sentences were written, indicating a conclusion, emphasizing, indicating an enumeration or sequence, and adding extra information in the text.
