Explanation 1:

Jennifer knows that at least one of Franklin's measures of the angles of the triangle is incorrect because the sum of the inner angles of a triangle is equal to 180°.

When you add the shown measures you get:

  • 37° + 97° + 134° =  268° ≠ 180°, which makes this an impossible triangle.

Explanation 2:

Jennifer also can know that either the measure 97° or 134° (or even both) is incorrect.

This is so because the addition of those two measures is

  • 97° + 134° = 231°

Since 231° > 180° those measures cannot be correct because the sum  of two angles of an triangle has to be less than 180°, given that when they are summed to the other angle the sum has to be 180°.

the members of senior class are planning a dance. they use the equation s=2r+t/x to determine the total receipts. what is r in t
Deffense [45]

Answer:

r = 1/2(s -t/x)

Step-by-step explanation:

Here, we simply want to make r the subject of the formula;

We proceed as follows;

s = 2r + t/x

s - t/x = 2r

Divide both sides by 2

r = 1/2(s - t/x)

In a horse race, how many different finishes among the first 3 places are possible if 7 horses are running? (Exclude ties)
kodGreya [7K]

Answer:

7 x 6 x 5 = 210

Step-by-step explanation:

its a combination's problem.

7 horses are eligible for first place.

6 of those are eligible for 2nd given that one of the 7 finished first.

similarly 5 of the remaining are eligible for 3rd place given 2 horses have taken the first 2 spots.

therefore 7 x 6 x 5 possible combinations = 210 combinations.
