Answer:

Amino acids

Explanation:

Amino acids are protein monomers, in other words, an amino acid is the smallest unit that constitutes a protein.

Amino acids are present in various body functions, such as cell structure composition, tissue repair, nutrient transport, and immune functions.

In addition, amino acids can also be used as a source of energy for the body, such as carbohydrates and fats, but unlike them, amino acids have nitrogen (N) in their structure.

Adrenaline stimulates glycogen breakdown in skeletal muscle cells by ultimately activating glycogen phosphorylase, the enzyme th
r-ruslan [8.4K]

Answer:

d) A constitutively active mutant form of PKA in skeletal muscle cells would lead to an excess in the amount of glycogen available.

Explanation:

This occurs in the process of Glycogenolysis. The process involves breaking down of glycogen to glucose -1- phosphate and glycogen which helps in the release of glucose into the blood stream to prevent hypoglycemia(low blood sugar). The glucose-1-phosphate is later converted to glucose -6-phosphate. The latter enters the glycolytic pathway in which the reaction is catalysed by the enzyme phosphoglucomutase.

This homeostatic glucose regulation is regulated by the protein kinase(PKA)/ cAMP pathway in the skeletal muscles, the liver and the pancreas.

makkiz [27]

The initiating event in the development of nephrotic syndrome is a derangement in the glomerular membrane that causes increased permeability to plasma proteins.

Nephrotic syndrome can be understood as a kidney disorder in which the glomeruli filter of the kidney gets damaged due to which it is unable to filter the proteins and passes an excess amount of protein in the urine.

Glomeruli filter consists of clusters of small blood vessels in the kidneys that function in filtering the waste and excess water from the blood. It also sweeps the blood protein which is necessary to maintain the correct amount of fluid in the body, from seeping into the urine. But when it gets damaged glomeruli stop sweeping the protein from the urine as a result too much blood protein leaves your body, leading to nephrotic syndrome.
