Assuming you had (mz³)(-2zn)=24z⁴
expand
remember
(ab)(cd)=(a)(b)(c)(d), associative/commutative

so

(m)(z³)(-2)(z)(n)=24z⁴
(-2)(m)(z³)(z)(n)=24z⁴
(-2)(m)(z⁴)(n)=24z⁴
-2mnz⁴=24z⁴
divide both sides by z⁴
-2mn=24
divide both sides by -2
mn=-12

m=-12/n
n=-12/m

Tutorial Exercise A boat leaves a dock at 2:00 PM and travels due south at a speed of 20 km/h. Another boat has been heading due
ANTONII [103]

Answer:

Both the boats will closet together at 2:21:36 pm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that - At 2 pm boat 1 leaves dock and heads south and boat 2 heads east towards the dock. Assume the dock is at origin (0,0).

Speed of boat 1 is 20 km/h so the position of boat 1 at any time (0,-20t),

        Formula :   d=v*t

at 2 pm boat 2 was 15 km due west of the dock because it took the boat 1 hour to reach there at 15 km/h, so the position of boat 2 at that time was (-15,0)

the position of boat 2 is changing towards east, so the position of boat 2 at any time (-15+15t,0)

      Formula : D=\sqrt{(x2-x1)^2+(y2-y1)^2}

⇒                     D = \sqrt{20^2t^2+15(t-1)^2}

Now let           F(t) = D^2(t)

                ∵    F'(t) = 800t + 450(t-1) =  1250t -450\\F'(t) =0

⇒                     t= 450/1250

⇒                     t= .36 hours

⇒                       = 21 min 36 sec

Since F"(t)=0,

∴ This time gives us a minimum.

Thus, The two boats will closet together at 2:21:36 pm.

The graph of a linear function intersects with the x axis at a point with an abscissa of 4 and with the y axis at a point with a
goldenfox [79]
We know that

points are
x intercept
A (4,0)

y intercept
B (0,11)

step 1
find the equation of a line
m=(y2-y1)/(x2-x1)--------> m=(11-0)/(0-4)------> m=-11/4

with m and the point B (0,11)
y-y1=m*(x-x1)y-11=(-11/4)*(x-0)---------> y=-(11/4)x+11

the answer is
the formula of the function is y=-(11/4)x+11

Alligator 1 initial weight is 4 lbs. the rate of growth is 2 lbs. per month. Alligator 2 initial weight is 8 lbs. the rate of gr
LekaFEV [45]

Answer:

  • 4 months

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the number of months be x

Alligator 1 weight = 4 + 2x

Alligator 2 weight = 8 + x

  • 4 + 2x = 8 + x
  • 2x - x = 8 - 4
  • x = 4

The answer is 4 months
