Area = (1/2)bh
h = b-4

(1/2)b(b-4) = 48
b(b-4) = 48 : (1/2)
b² - 4b = 96
b² - 4b - 96 = 0
D = (-4)² - 4·(-96) = 16 + 384 = 400 = 20²
b₁ = (4-20)/2 = -8     ∅
b₂ = (4+20)/2 = 12

The length of the base = 12 m

Find the measure of angle2

A. 90
B. 50
C. 60
D. 30
galina1969 [7]
I think it is C. 60.
You can eliminate A because it is not a right angle, and D because the angle is bigger than the given angle. So it is between 50 and 60, and I hope this is right and the picture makes sense

Given that the base of the rock is 14 feet, and the height of the rock is 12 feet, what is the slope on which the vehicle is lea
ExtremeBDS [4]
Hi! So pretty much to find slope of a triangle you are going to use rise/run. The height being 12 and the length is 14. You get 12/14. Simplified is going to be 6/7. :)
