2 oranges cost $2 . $9 - $2 = $7
then 12 apply of Lisa and 6 apples of Jeremy
= 18 ÷ 7 = 2.57. $2.57 for 6 apples
2.57 ÷ 6 = 0.43 each apple

Answer:

The cost of each apple is $0.39

The cost of each orange is $1

Step-by-step explanation:

Lisa buys a dozen apples and two oranges.

Let 'x' be the cost of each apple

and 'y' be the cost of each orange

Lisa buys a dozen apples and two oranges.

12x+2y

Oranges cost $1 each, so y=1

12x+2

Jeremy buys six apples.  So 6x

Total amount spent is $9

12x+2+6x=9

18x+2=9

Subtract 2 from both sides

18x=7

Divide both sides by 18

x=0.39

The cost of each apple is $0.39

The cost of each orange is $1

Cam someone please explain how to do this?
Illusion [34]
When quantities are in a proportional relationship, they are related to each other by a multiplicative constant. That is the case for selections F, G, J, but not the case for selection H.

You are asked to find the relationship that is NOT a proportional relationship. The appropriate choice is ...

Five bulbs of which three are defective are to be tried in two bulb points in a dark room
iogann1982 [59]

Answer:

D 7

Step-by-step explanation:

Total no. of bulb= 5

no. of defected bulb= 3

no. of not defected bulb=2

Total no. of bulb combination = 5C2

=5!/2!(5-2)!

= 5!/2!3!

= 5×4×3×2×1/2×1×3×2×1

=120/12

=10

( since a room can be lighted with one bulb also)

total no. of bulb combination when room shall not light = 3C2

3!/2!(3-2)!

= 3!/2! 1!

= 3×2×1/2×1×1

= 6/2

=3

Now,

Total no. of trial when room shall light

=10-3

=7

Hence, number of trial when the room shall be lighted is 7 which is option d
