If QT is 9 and TP is 8 Find the length of the following:RPRTRS

Mathematics
1 answer:

Answer:

i. RP = 17

ii. RT = 15

iii. RS = 30

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that; QT = 9 and TP = 8.

From the diagram, join R to P. Thus RP = QP (radius of the circle)

                        RP = QT + TP

                             = 9 + 8

                         RP = 17

Applying Pythagoras theorem to triangle TRP;

             RT = \sqrt{(RP)^{2} - (TP)^{2} }

                  = \sqrt{17^{2} - 8^{2} }

                 = \sqrt{225}

                 = 15

∴           RT = 15

But, RT = TS = 15.

So that;

       RS = 15 + 15

             = 30

        RS = 30

Therefore;  RP = 17, RT = 15 and RS = 30.

yarga [219]
First we define the variable to be used:
 x: half-life time period
 The equation for this problem can be modeled as:
 y = A * (b) ^ x
 Where,
 A: initial amount
 b: decrease rate.
 For example:
 if there are 100 atoms, after one half-life time period, 50 atoms remain:
 y = 100 * (0.50) ^ x
 after one half-life time period (x = 1):
 y = 100 * (0.50) ^ 1
 y = 50
 The equation that models the problem is:
 y = 16 * (0.50) ^ x

Answer:

  C.  $1,315.06

Step-by-step explanation:

Saving 103.19 per month for 12 months would give Ricky the amount of ...

  12 × $103.19 = $1238.28

The amount of interest earned on this amount in one year is ...

  I = Prt = $1238.28·0.031·1 = $38.39 . . . . rounded to nearest cent

Then the balance after 2 years will be ...

  $1238.28 +2 × $38.39 = $1315.06
