Answer:

The Catholic Church in the region promoted indigenous rights.

Explanation:

Bishop Samuel Ruiz Garcia of the Catholic church was notable for his use of symbols which shaped the January 1, 1994 Zapatista uprising in Chiapas, Mexico.

His leadership training program promoted the Zapatista uprising by promoting community and social concerns, not just spiritual concerns that the Roman Catholic Church is primarily involved with.

How was the Marshall Plan the first great success of George F. Kennan's idea of containment?
marusya05 [52]

Answer:

D) The Marshall Plan built good will toward the United States that helped contain the expansion of communism.

Explanation:

The Marshall Plan was an effort both to rebuild Europe and work against the spread of communism.

The "Marshall Plan" was named after the man who then was US Secretary of State, George C. Marshall. Officially the plan was called the European Recovery Program. Marshall announced the plan in 1947, and it went into effect in 1948. The intent was to provide aid and rebuilding to European economies after the damaging effects of World War II.

In his speech introducing the plan, Secretary Marshall had said: "Our policy is not directed against any country, but against hunger, poverty, desperation and chaos. Any government that is willing to assist in recovery will find full co-operation on the part of the United States. Its purpose should be the revival of a working economy in the world so as to permit the emergence of political and social conditions in which free institutions can exist."

What impact would valuable goods like cotton have on European struggles for power in the Americas?
zheka24 [161]

Answer:

Valuable goods like cotton were essentially the main drivers of conflict between European Countries in the Americas.

The reason why European Countries established colonies in the Americas in the first place was to obtain valuable goods that could only be produced or found there: goods like cotton, rice and sugarcane.

The possession of territories were these goods were produced often resulted in armed conflict. The French-Indian war, which occurred two decades before the American Revolution, is an example.
