anyanavicka [17]

The correct answer is - was divided at the 38th parallel.

After the World War II ended, the United States and the Soviet Union decided to try and gain control of the strategic Korean Peninsula. They used the Korean leaders in their advantage, and the Soviets were supporting the north where the communism was idolized, while the United  States were supporting the south were the nationalists were in charge. It all started with the attack of the north towards the south, and it turned out to be a bloody and devastating war for the Korean people. On the place were the advancing Soviet and American soldiers met, the 38th parallel, it was decided that a border will be set, and that two nations will exist, North Korea and South Korea, and so it was, and still remains.
