Well during the reconstruction US and the USSR had their own sides of the scatter belt East was taken by the Soviets while the west was controlled by westward ideology. This was when the Russians were making puppet states, puppet states was a plan where you didn't control the country personally but by making it seem like the government had it's plans but be on your side, later during the Cold War the US started this plan as well using Marshall Plan helping a nation and making them on the US's side; this basically tor the earth in half putting everyone on two sides.

Answer:

Soviet Bloc nations did not receive any economic aid.

Explanation:

Though the Marshall Plan did not specifically exclude Soviet nations from receiving aid, the program only gave it to European democracies. This caused economic conflict in the Cold War, as the United States attempted to strengthen European countries that were not under Soviet control.

The introduction to how Communism affects South, Central, and Southwest Asia?
Darina [25.2K]

Answer:

Communism affected all three regions: South, Central, and Southwest Asia. First, Russia had a Revolution, called the Russian Revolution. It turned the monarchy of Russia into a Communist republic. Then, the Cold War started because US did not like Communism, and therefore did not want it to spread.

Then, there was the Chinese Civil War between the people who wanted democracy (who fled to Taiwan to create their own government) and the Communists (the people who were reinforced by the Russians.) In fact, the United States did not interfere with this war, which created major problems.

If the United States was helping the anti-Communists, China would not have become Communist. But, in the end of the war, the results were clear - the Soviets and the North Chinese had won the war.

Then, there was the Vietnamese War. China and Russia were helping North Vietnam, which wanted to become a communist, and the US finally helped South Vietnam. But it was too late. Eventually, the Chinese taught the North Vietnamese how to use guerilla tactics. In the end, the US was out-smarted.

The United States withdrew their troops from Vietnam, which made matters worse. South Vietnam quickly got invaded a few months later, and there were too little US troops to help the combat effort.

Then, there was the Korean War, which was a stalemate and which required a treaty. North Korea wanted communism for the whole country, but South Korea was very powerful, and the US also helped. North Korea was almost finished invading when US and NATO troops arrived. They took back the whole entire Korea and split it.

That is your introduction. I hope it helped!

If Ptolemy were right about Venus, how would it appear to earthlings?
DerKrebs [107]

The Ptolemaic system is a geocentric cosmology, which assumed that the earth was stationary and at the center of the whole universe. It is important to remember, though, that even during Galileo's time, most people believed that the earth was the center of the universe and the sun rotated around our planet.

The expectation for the old civilizations was that the sun, moon, planets and stars were supposed to travel in an uniform motion. This motion was supposed to be a circle which was considered the closest to a perfect path for the heavenly bodies.

However, when studying the paths of those heavenly bodies, they could observe that, at least looking from Earth, the paths were not circular.

Therefore Ptolemy had a hypothesis that explained the <em>'supposed imperfection'</em>. In his model, he suggested that the apparently irregularity in the paths of the moons and starts were a combination of perfect paths (or circular motions) seen in perspective from the stationary body of the observer.

His suggestion was that, the planets were rotating around a center like the moon rotates the earth and they were doing this rotating movement around the earth like the moon rotates the sun fixed at Earth's rotation therefore giving us the illusion that they were not in a circular/perfect path.

So, in Ptolemy's system, Venus would rotate around our planet the same way that our moon rotates around the sun.
