They are the same thing, but there's also carbon dioxide in the ocean, dissolved as carbonic acid. Carbon dioxide literally means one carbon, two oxygens. CO2.

Answer:

Explanation:When carbon and oxygen bond together, they form a colorless, odorless gas called carbon dioxide, which is a heat-trapping greenhouse gas. ... But right now, by burning fossil fuels, people are adding carbon to the atmosphere (in the form of carbon dioxide) faster than natural processes can remove it.

Predict the likely effect on the ability of substance L to enter the cells if substance L is attached to a large protein instead
LenKa [72]

Answer:

The cell membrane is semi-permeable. It allows some molecules to enter easily inside the cell whereas some molecules are blocked from entering the cell.

Small, polar molecules and hydrophobic molecules enter easily through the cell membrane. But large molecules and ions cannot easily move inside the cell membrane.

A hydrophilic substance like the substance L mentioned in the question enters the cell membrane through the help of carrier proteins. The substance attached to the large protein might enter through active or passive diffusion but it can only enter the cell by attaching to carrier proteins.

Which of the following statements about NADPH and/or NADH is not true? Choose one:
inn [45]

Answer:

NADPH is an activated carrier molecule that is used primarily by plants (NOT TRUE)

Explanation:

NADPH is indeed an electron carrier molecule that participates in various metabolic (anabolic) reactions carried out by plants, but it also participates actively in metabolic (anabolic) reactions carried out in animal tissues, this means that it is used by the cells of the human body as well.

A very important metabolic process in which the NADPH is produced is during the glucose 6-phosphate oxidation into phosphate pentoses through the pentose phosphate pathway. In this process NADP+ is the main electron acceptor, so when it is reduced it produces NADPH. This NADPH is very important for the synthesis of fatty acids, cholesterol and various steroid hormones.
