Answer: Calcium.

Explanation:

Bone is a metabolically active, multifunctional tissue consisting of a heterogeneous population of cells at different stages of cell differentiation. The skeleton contains 99% of the body's Ca and functions as a reserve of this ion, whose concentration in the blood must be kept constant for normal body functioning. Bone is approximately 70% minerals, 20% organic matrix and about 10% water, which sets it apart from other less rigid connective tissues. The mineral or inorganic matrix is predominantly formed by Ca and P, in the form of hydroxyapatite crystals, Ca3 (PO4) 2, constituting approximately 60 to 70% of the bone weight and being responsible for the stiffness and compressive strength properties.

Answer:

lose more heat to the environment in cold environments

Explanation:

This is because as an animal have large surface area, it is exposed largely and prone to loss of heat. The larger the size of an animal, the larger the surface area and volume. It's surface area expose the tendency for the animal to sweat alot , through sweating heat is loss to the environment. In cold environment, the animal try to maintain internal homeostasis and through this heat is generated and loss to the environment.
