A quiz has multiple-choice questions, each with 5 choices. The answer possibilities are distributed evenly. If a student gets a

correct answer they will receive +3 points. If they leave it blank, they will receive 0 points. If they write an incorrect answer, they will receive -1 point. A student guesses the answers to some questions. Determine on average, in the long run, how many points the student will score. (Write your answer as a decimal, with a minus sign if needed.) a0 points per question

The probability of choosing a correct answer = 1/5
The probability of choosing a wrong answer = 4/5

Scores received on correct answer = +3
Scores received on wrong answer = -1
Scores on blank answer = 0

The average scores, in long run will be equal to the expected value. The expected value E, in this case will be:

E= \frac{1}{5}(+3)+ \frac{4}{5}(-1)=-0.2

Thus, in long run, the student will score -0.2 points on average.

(FOR K-12 STUDENTS) Keith correctly determined the area of this parallelogram by adding the areas of the triangles and rectangle
Gemiola [76]

The area of the parallelogram using area of rectangle and area of two triangles is 84 m²

How to find area of a parallelogram

 • Area of a rectangle = length × width

= 8m × 7m

= 56 m²

 • Area of each triangle = 1/2 × base × height

= 1/2 × 4m × 7m

= 1/2 × 28

= 14m²

 • Total area of triangles = 2(14 m²)

= 28 m²

 • Area of parallelogram = area of rectangle + area of two triangles

= 56 m² + 28 m²

= 84 m²

6. Audrey's monthly car payment is $350 and
jasenka [17]

Answer:

22 hours

Step-by-step explanation:

For one month, Audrey has to pay $350 for her payment and $35 for gas, meaning that she will need to pay $385 per month.

$350 + $35 = $385

Audrey makes $17.50 an hour. Set up an equality to find the amount of hours she must work to pay for her car payment and gas.

17.50x > 385

(17.50x)/17.50 > 385/17.50

x > 22

Audrey must work at least 22 hours to pay for her car payment and gas.
