First you are want to think of what two numbers will give you 72. It gives you 6, so you need to think of 6 times what will give you 72 (which is 12). Next you want to break down the 12, and you do the exact same thing you did with the 72. It gives you the number 3 so you need to find out 3 times what equals 12 (which is 4). Then you break down the 4 the same way. You have to do that to the 6 as well.
You continue to break down numbers until you can’t anymore.

4.b.

Answer: See below.

Step-by-step explanation:

For the equation f(x) = 2x

3.a. f(6) means use x = 6 in the equation f(x) = 2x

so f(6) would be f(6)= 2(6)

f(6) = 12

3.b. f(-11) = 2(-11)

f(-11) = -22

3.c. f(2.75) = 2(2.75)

f(2.75) = 5.5

3.d. This is turned around. We are told f(x)=20, so what would x need to be for f(x) to be 20? Since f(x) = 2x, we can say 20 = 2x. Therefore x = 10

f(10) = 20

The rest of (3) are solved in the same fasion.h

For the equation f(x)= 5x+50

4.a. f(7) = 5(7)+50

f(7) = 85

4.b. f(-12)

 f(-12) = 5*(-12)+50

f(-12) = -60

Continue in the same fashion for these types of problems.

Find the area and the circumference of a circle with the radius 3 ft.Use 3.14 for pi
Lilit [14]

ANSWER

• Circumference: 18.84 ft

,

• Area: 28.26 ft²

EXPLANATION

The circumference of a circle of radius r is,

C=2\pi r

In this case, the radius is r = 3 ft and we have to use 3.14 for π,

C=2\cdot3.14\cdot3ft=18.84ft

Hence, the circumference of this circle is 18.84 feet.

The area of a circle of radius r is,

A=\pi r^2

In this case, r = 3 ft and π = 3.14,

A=3.14\cdot3^2ft^2=28.26ft^2

Hence, the area of this circle is 28.26 square feet.
