Columbian Exchange or the great exchange has a significant impact on the lives of people living in America, Europe, Asia and Africa. Columbian exchange started after the discovery of the new world ( America). For example, before 1000 AD potatoes were only grown in the south America, the other world was not known to potatoes. By the 1840s Ireland became so dependent on potatoes that it's one eighth population got killed in the potato famine.
