Answer:

x = 4

Step-by-step explanation:

Step 1: Simplify both sides of the equation.

2(8−12x)+8x=−25x+52

(2)(8)+(2)(−12x)+8x=−25x+52(Distribute)

16+−24x+8x=−25x+52

(−24x+8x)+(16)=−25x+52(Combine Like Terms)

−16x+16=−25x+52

−16x+16=−25x+52

Step 2: Add 25x to both sides.

−16x+16+25x=−25x+52+25x

9x+16=52

Step 3: Subtract 16 from both sides.

9x+16−16=52−16

9x=36

Step 4: Divide both sides by 9.

9x/9 = 36/9

x = 4

<span>△PQR is similar to △STU

</span>m∠R = m∠U = 96°

m∠Q = m∠T = 6

m∠P = 180 - ( 96 + 6)

m∠P = 180 - 102

m∠P = 78

How many 10-digit ternary strings are there that contain exactly two 0s, three 1s, and five 2s?
Svet_ta [14]

There are \dbinom{10}2 ways of picking 2 of the 10 available positions for a 0. 8 positions remain.

There are \dbinom83 ways of picking 3 of the 8 available positions for a 1. 5 positions remain, but we're filling all of them with 2s, and there's \dbinom55=1 way of doing that.

So we have

\dbinom{10}2\dbinom83\dbinom55=\dfrac{10!}{2!(10-2)!}\dfrac{8!}{3!(8-3)!}\dfrac{5!}{5!(5-5)!}=2520

The last expression has a more compact form in terms of the so-called multinomial coefficient,

\dbinom{10}{2,3,5}=\dfrac{10!}{2!3!5!}=2520

Texaschic nailed it when saying that it's arithmetic

The recursive way to write this is to say

a_1 = 6
a_n = a_{n-1} - 5

which tells us "start at 6 and each time subtract off 5"

The a_n portion is the nth term while a_{n-1} is the term just before the nth term
