Answer: I and III

The author of this excerpt uses both simile and sensory imagery in order to convey his message. Simile is a comparison between two different things that, nevertheless, are similar in some respect. It is mostly used by using words such as "like." In this case, the simile is "wrapped up like garbage." On the other hand, sensory imagery refers to the images that the author creates in your mind through the use of vivid descriptions. For example, "the smell of too old potato peels."

Which excerpt from The Great Gatsby is the best example of foreshadowing
Vlada [557]

.he stretched out his arms toward the dark water in a curious way, and, far as I was from him, I could have sworn he was trembling. Involuntarily I glanced seaward — and distinguished nothing except a single green light, minute and far away, that might have been the end of a dock. When I looked once more for Gatsby he had vanished, and I was alone again in the unquiet darkness.

Knowing when to use "less" and "fewer" is often something people find difficult. Which of the following sentences IS WRONG?
aliina [53]
I would say the correct answer is C. There's less apples in the garden today. The difference between "less" and "fewer" is very simple: less is used for uncountable nouns (the ones that can't be counted, e.g. you can't count love, hate, salt, etc.) and fewer for countable (such as apples). So, the correct version of this sentence would be: There are fewer apples in the garden today.

What are the words that john Boyne uses to signal this flashback? The Boy in the Striped Pajamas Chapter 11.
Dimas [21]

Answer:

i did not read the book, but this is what i do know. Flashbacks are a time of reflection, so there are many past tense verbs used. You may also see things like, "Back in my day...", "As I think back...", "When I was a young boy...", "As I remember...".

i hope that this helped you out with the answer you're looking for! have a great day
