The family is the most important agent in the process of socialization of the individual. It is the first contact to which the child will be involved and his role (in thesis) is to discipline the individual in an ethical and moral way through the social sphere in which he/she is.
The different agents of socialization are most important at different stages of our lives. This is because different phases of life imply different needs and forms of socialization and this makes each agent have its importance. For primary socialization, the family has the most important role. Parents transmit to the child the language, the general values, the norms, the way of behaving, the customs, the culture, etc. Then, the school allows to transmit the culture of the country. The associations allow to complete the socialization and the role of the parents. Also, the media (television, radio, internet) are a socializing agent. For example, a teenager may identify with a character from a soap opera. In addition, friends have an important role as well. Groups of friends share values and social norms, such as the way of speaking and cultural practices, for example.
