Before description, set the picture of a suspension bridge as "<span>Gate Bridge or Brooklyn Bridge" which is quite famous so you would probably know about it.

In this type of Bridges, they are </span><span>suspended the roadway by cables, ropes or chains from two tall towers. That towers support the majority of the weight as compression pushes down on the suspension bridge's deck and then travels up the connection (cables, ropes or chains) to transfer compression to the towers. The towers then dissipate the compression directly into the earth.
Suspension cables </span><span>receive the bridge's tension forces. These cables run horizontally between the two far-flung </span><span>anchorages

Hope this helps!</span>

A railroad car moving at a speed of 3.49 m/s overtakes, collides, and couples with two coupled railroad cars moving in the same
Mandarinka [93]

Answer:

Explanation:

Using conservation law of momentum

let m₁ = mass of the railroad, initial u₁ = 3.49 m/s

let m₂ = mass of one of the coupled car,  u₂= 1.28m/s

let m₃ = mass of the second car u₃ = 1.28 m/s

m₁u₁ + m₂u₂ + m₃u₃ = v ( m₁ + m₂ + m₃)

since the masses are the same

m₁ = m₂ = m₃

m ( 3.49 + 1.28 + 1.28) = 3m v

6.05 m = 3 mv

v = 6.05 m / 3m = 2.0167 m/s

b) kinetic energy lost = energy before collision - energy after collision

= (0.5m₁u₁² + 0.5 ( m₁+m₂) u₂² - 0.5 ( m₁ + m₂ + m₃) v

= (6.58365 + 1.7712) - 6.5951 = 1.76J

An arrow is shot at a target 20 m away. The arrow is shot with a horizontal velocity of 80 m/s.
Verdich [7]

(1) The time of motion of the arrow is 0.25 s.

(2) The vertical height dropped by the arrow as it approaches the target is 0.31 m.

The given parameters:

  • <em>Horizontal distance of the arrow, X = 20 m</em>
  • <em>Horizontal speed of the arrow, v = 80 m/s</em>

<em />

The time of motion of the arrow is calculated as follows;

t = \frac{X}{v} \\\\t = \frac{20 }{80} \\\\t  = 0.25 \ s

The vertical height dropped by the arrow as it approaches the target is calculated as follows;

h = v_0_y t + \frac{1}{2} gt^2\\\\h = 0 \ + \ \frac{1}{2} \times 9.8 \times 0.25^2\\\\h =0.31 \ m

The rhinestones in costume jewelry are glass with index of refraction 1.50. To make them more reflective, they are often coated
anyanavicka [17]

Answer:

T=62.9*10^{-9}

Explanation:

From the question we are told that:

Index of refraction of Rinestones \gamma_1 =1.5

Index of refraction of silicon \gamma_2 =2.0

Wavelength  \lambda=576nm=576*10^{-9}

Let each layer have thickness T

Therefore

Total Thickness =2T

Generally the equation for  Constructive interference is mathematically given by

2T=(m+0.5)\frac{l\lambda}{\gamma_2}

Where

 M=0

 2T=(0+0.5)\frac{576*10^{-9}}{2*2.0}

 T=62.9*10^{-9}
