Please help me

Discuss the need for the Department of Homeland Security.
Vlada [557]
The Department of Homeland Security is responsible for the public security US citizens are entitled to. They are in charge to counter anything that threatens the safety of the US. The bounds of their service includes:

- counterterrorism
-Border security
-aviation security
-cybersecurity
-national figures security
-maritime security
-port security
-immigration law enforcement
-detection and elimination of biological & nuclear threats
-etc

The DHS is important to maintain security throughout the US. Responsibilities such as aviation security can be traced by to 9/11, where the failure to detect public hazards resulted in a disastrous catastrophe. Political figures and the President needs to be protected in order to carry out their dedicated purpose to their nation and avoid events such as the assassination of President Lincoln or President Kennedy. Enforcements of DHS are also seen at the borders of the US, guarding any pathways that infringe on the laws of the US. More recently, cybersecurity are also a major security effort as the nation enters into a digital society. Many malicious digital intents could be a major threat to the security of public safety.

There are more factors as to why the Department of Homeland Security exists, but I hope this helped :)

How were animals that were brought from the Old World to the New World revolutionary for the New World? How did New World plants
Olenka [21]

The Columbian Exchange brought lot of new animal species from the Old World to the New World, and lot of plants from the New World to the Old World, both of which had huge impacts.

The animals brought from the Old World to the New World, like the cows, horses, goats, sheep, poultry, all had big impact. Some were excellent for working on the farmlands, all of them were producing large amounts of excrement which was great for fertilization of the soil. Some were great for quick traveling, as well as being very useful in warfare. The majority of them provided food, be it meat, milk, or eggs, while some provided wool for clothing.

The plants brought from the New World to the Old World had huge positive impact in Eurasia as they managed to provide lot of food for the people, thus largely preventing malnutrition and famine. The most important of these plants is probably the potato, which has become one of the most valuable food sources, and one of the most popular as well.
