There would be a 44.4% chance of either of these happening.

In order to find this we have to find out how many total possibilities there are. Because we have two die each with 6 sides, we have 36 total options.

Of those options, 12 of them start with either a 3 or 6, which are multiples of 3. So we can add 12 to our lists of successes.

Of those options, there are 4 more that don't start with those numbers, but do equal 7.  (1 and 6, 2 and 5, 4 and 3, 5 and 2). So we can add 4 to our list of successes.

Knowing we have 12 and 4 successes, we can add them together to get 16. We can then divide that by the total options (36) to find the percentage above.

Write four different expressions for the perimeter of a pentagon whose sides are all s-2 units long?
Masteriza [31]

Hey there!

1. 5(s-2) This is because s-2 is the length of each side, and there are 5 sides in a pentagon all of that length, so multiplying it by 5 like this shows its perimeter.

2. 5s-10 This can be found by distributing the first equation, multiplying both s and -2 by 5.

3. (s-2) + (s-2) + (s-2) + (s-2) + (s-2) Each grouping in the parenthesis represents each of the 5 sides, so adding them all together will get you the perimeter.

4. 5(s) + 5(-2) This one is most like the first one, except it's a little more spread out. Multiply the term s by the 5 sides in one grouping, and the integer -2 by 5 in the other.

Hope this helps!

The difference between a number squared and 10 is 71 just translate please don't solve.
AnnyKZ [126]

Step-by-step explanation:

Things I notice about this problem:

  • "Difference" indicates subtraction.
  • "Is" means "equals".
  • When a problem simply says "a number," I replace it with a variable.

It is written out like this: x^{2} - 10 = 71.
