Walter, as a renowed American Pyschologist founded a theory on personality of an individual. This Theory of Personality states that an individual's behavior is influenced by two things - the specific attributes of a given situation and the manner in which he perceives the situation.
In the case of Wanda, his behaviour (quite nature) is as a result of the given situation (found between people in authority) which she percieve is more formal compared to her other behaviour in a situation which she believes to be informal in its settings.
Wanda is very quiet around people in authority, but she can be loud and boisterous among her peers. Walter Mischel would explain the difference in Wanda's behaviour in terms of situational factors.
