Find the next three terms of the geometric sequence -8, 12, -18,27
Pie

Answer:

-40.5, 60.75, -91.125

Step-by-step explanation:

first you want to find the common difference. So just divide 12 by -8, which is -1.5 and then multiply 27 by -1.5, which is -40.5 and continue two more times.

1 For each of the following two linear equations identify the slope and the 3y+ x= 12
ahrayia [7]
For identifying the slope of a line, is easier if we get the equation to its slope-intercept form, that is:
y = mx + b
where m is the slope, and b is the y axis intercept. So we'll change the original equations and get them to this form:

<span>3y+ x= 12
3y = -x + 12
y = (-1/3) + 4
therefore the slope is -1/3 and the y-axis intercept is 4

-9x + 4y = 16
4y = 9x + 16
y = (9/4)x + 4
therefore the slope is 9/4 and the y-axis intercept is 4</span>

Jelly fakes sell for $1.23 for 1/4 pound bag. How much for 4 pounds of jelly fakes?
Mkey [24]

Answer:

19.68

Step-by-step explanation:

1/4 x 16 = 4

1.23 x 16 = 19.68

so you have 1/4 of pound so you will time that by four which equals 1 pound

now with that info you times 4 x 4 3 more times to get 4 pound

but you want the price so you figure how many fours there were and time them to gt 16 then you 16 x 1.23

What is the solution to this equation? 2ln4+lnx=3ln2+ln(x+1)
Galina-37 [17]

Answer:

x=1

Step-by-step explanation:

Given equation:

2 \ln 4+\ln x=3 \ln 2+\ln(x+1)

\textsf{Apply the power law}: \quad n \ln x = \ln x^n

\implies \ln 4^2+\ln x=\ln 2^3+\ln(x+1)

Simplify:

\implies \ln 16+\ln x=\ln 8+\ln(x+1)

Subtract ln 8 from both sides:

\implies \ln 16+\ln x- \ln 8=\ln(x+1)

Subtract ln x from both sides:

\implies \ln 16-\ln 8=\ln(x+1)-\ln x

\textsf{Apply the quotient law}: \quad \ln x - \ln y = \ln \frac{x}{y}

\implies \ln \left\dfrac{16}{8}\right = \ln \left(\dfrac{x+1}{x}\right)

Simplify:

\implies \ln 2 = \ln \left(\dfrac{x+1}{x}\right)

\textsf{Apply the equality law}: \quad \textsf{if }\: \ln x= \ln y\:\textsf{ then }\:x=y

\implies 2=\dfrac{x+1}{x}

Multiply both sides by x:

\implies 2x=x+1

Subtract x from both sides:

\implies x=1

Using the Law of Sines  (sina/A=sinb/B=sincC for any triangle)

sinc/28=sin90/53  (sin90=1)  multiply both sides by 28

sinc=28/53  take the inverse of sin (arcsin) of both sides

c=arcsin(28/53)°

c≈31.89°  (to nearest hundredth of a degree)

So it is obvious that they rounded to nearest tenth of a degree

c≈31.9°
