X=5
Y=1
2x+4(2x-11)=6
+44 both sides
2x+8x=50
10x=50
Divide by 10 both sides
X=5
Plug in 5 to x and you will find y

The given equations are

4x - 2y = 22 --- Equation Number 1

2x + 4y = 6 --- Equation Number 2

Let's multiply the first equation by 2 . The equation becomes :

8x - 4y = 44

Now let's add both the equations:

(2x + 4y) + (8x - 4y) = 6 +44

or, 2x + 8x + 4y - 4y = 50

or, 10x = 50

or, x = 50/10

or,x = 5

Now put, x =5 in equation number 2, 2x + 4y = 6

2 * 5 + 4 y = 6

or, 10 + 4y = 6

or, 4y = 6-10

or, 4y = -4

or, y = -4/4

or, y =-1

Therefore, x = 5 and y = -1

Hope this helps..!!

Thank you :)

How much money is in Joe's savings account after 3 years if he deposited $400 at the beginning of the year and the account pays
yan [13]

Answer:

Total amount in Joe's savings account T = $448

Step-by-step explanation:

Given;

time t = 3 years

Annual rate r = 4%

Principal P = $400

Simple interest can be expressed as;

I = Prt/100

Substituting the given values;

I =400×4×3/100 = 4800/100

I = $48

Total amount in account T;

T = P + I = $400 + $48 = $448

grandymaker [24]
The mass of the first shipment at time t is
m_{1}=100( \frac{1}{2} )^{ \frac{t}{10}}

The mass of the second shipment at time t is
m_{2}=100( \frac{1}{2} )^{ \frac{t-3}{10} }

At time t, the ratio of m₁ to m₂ is
\frac{m_{1}}{m_{2}} = \frac{100}{100}. \frac{(1/2)^{t/10}}{(1/2)^{(t-3)/10}} \\ =  \frac{(1/2)^{t/10}}{(1/2)^{t/10}}. \frac{1}{(1/2)^{-3/10}} \\ = (1/2)^{3/10} \\ = 0.8123

Therefore as a percentage,
\frac{m_{1}}{m_{2}} =100*0.8123 = 81.23 \%

By what percentages are Sweden's high category and medium category less than the United States' categories (to the nearest perce
Korolek [52]

REQUIRED CHART :

The required chart has been attached

Answer:

31.8%

30.0%

Step-by-step explanation:

Required :

To obtain the Difference between Sweden and United States high and medium categories to the nearest %

Sweden :

High category = $23.51

Medium category = $15.73

United States :

High category = $34.48

Medium category = $22.46

Percentage Difference :

High category : (34.48 - 23.51) / 34.48 * 100% = 31.8%

Medium category : (22.46 - 15.73) / 22.46 * 100% = 29.96% = 30.0%

Macy’s buys a pair of Cole Haan dress shoes wholesale for $90. If Macy’s marks up the price 20%, and tax is 9%, how much did Nor
stich3 [128]

Answer:

Norman bought the shoes for $117.72

Step-by-step explanation:

In order to find the answer to this question, start by multiplying the cost by the markup.

$90 * 20% = $18.

Now we add the $18 to the original price.

$90 + $18 = $108

Now that we have the mark up price, we need to do the same using the tax.

$108 * 9% = $9.72

Finally, we add that to the previous total.

$108 + $9.72 = $117.72
