OlgaM077 [116]

Sexism is a stereotype or prejudice that is based on a individual's biological sex. Though sexism majorly affects females (girls and women), it is not limited to just females it can also affect males (boys ad men). Sexism is liked to gender roles ad also includes beliefs that a biological sex is superior to the other biological sex.

From the example, males were more considered for the managerial position over females, because of sexism and the belief that the male gender is superior to the female gender.

When we evaluate our own merits with respect to certain reference groups, we are engaging in a process known as: Social comparison

What is social comparison?

The social comparison process involves people coming to know themselves by evaluating their own attitudes, abilities, and traits in comparison with others.

The theory demonstrates that people generally compare themselves to others who they perceive to be better and worse than them in various ways of promoting positive self-image, self-motivation, and self-improvement.

Steps to stop social comparison:

 • Awareness
 • Count blessings.
 • Focus on strengths.
 • Learn to love enough.
 • Accept imperfection.

uysha [10]

Answer:

Reactive devaluation

Explanation:

From the scenario described. It can be observed that the students gave the idea a lower rating because it was coming from the opposing side. Hence, this is am an example of REACTIVE DEVALUATION.

This is because Reactive Devaluation is a term that describes a form of mental bias from one party towards another. This arises when a plan is devalued by party A because the plan comes from party B who is perceived as the opponent.

Hence, in this case, the students' reaction is an example of Reaction Devaluation
