Find three consecutive odd integers such that the first is 33 less than twice the second

Mathematics

6 0

the smallest integer will be x

2nd smallest will be x+2

largest will be x+4

therefore

2x+2-33=x

2x+2=x+33

2x=x+33-2

2x-x=33-2

x=31

the numbers will be 31,33 and 35

lets check whether it is correct

2x+2-33=x

31*2+2-33=31

62+2-33=31

64-33=31

31=31

therefore the answer 31,33 and 35 is correct

What is the correct solution to solving this equation?
ioda

Answer:

A

Step-by-step explanation:

If you simplify both sides you will get answer A.

Answer B does not apply because it is not an equation meaning it has no solutions.

Answer C is not possible with the equation given because if you tried to move x to one side of the equation, x would cancel itself out.

Answer D is not possible for the same reason as Answer C.

Answer:

  (1) x(2/3) = y

  (2) 27

  (3) 8

  (4) 9

Step-by-step explanation:

The first line of the table tells you how to fill in the second line. Use the x and y values from the third line to write (y/x) = (2/3). This gives you the equation ...

  x(2/3) = y . . . . line (1)

For the remainder of the table, you can use the given value compared to the value in line 3 to see what the multiplier is for the other value.

(2): The multiplier is 18/2 = 9, so the missing x-value is 3×9 = 27.

(3): The multiplier is 12/3 = 4, so the missing y-value is 2×4 = 8.

(4): The multiplier is 6/2 = 3, so the missing x-value is 3×3 = 9.
