First find the MCM of both fractions:

\frac{1}{2} + \frac{2}{3} = \frac{3}{6} + \frac{4}{6}

After that do the sum normally:

\frac{3}{6} + \frac{4}{6} = \frac{7}{6} = 1 \frac{1}{6}

Hope it helped,

Happy homework/ study/ exam!

Here we have to find lcm of 2 and 3 first

lcm of 2 and 3 is 2*3=6

now we convert both denominator into lcm

\frac{1}{2} +\frac{2}{3}

\frac{1*3}{2*3} +\frac{2*2}{3*2}

\frac{3}{6} +\frac{4}{6}

combining numerators

\frac{3+4}{6}

=7/6

The water level in Rick Lake changes at an average of -7/16 inch every 3 years.
ryzh [129]

Answer:

-7/48

Step-by-step explanation:

  1. Ok, so if there is a change of -7/16 inches every 3 years, then you just basically have to divide -7/16 inches by 3. And since you can't divide fraction and only multiply the reciprocal of a fraction you would say        -7/16 * 1/3 = -7/48.
  2. If you want to mark it on a number line, you would basically just find -7/16 and divide the distance from 0 to -7/16 into 3 portions and mark the 1st third of the distance your answer.

Use linear combination method to solve this systemof equations. What is the value of x?
lys-0071 [83]

Using the linear combination method, we can add 3x+7y=31 and -3x-2y=-1 together, which makes 5y=30.

Just divide both sides by 5, and your answer will be y = 6.

To solve for x, just substitute 6 in y in either equation and solve for x:

-3x-2(6)=-1\\ -3x-12=-1\\ -3x=11\\ x=-\frac{11}{3} =-3\frac{2}{3}

In short, the correct answer is B. -3 2/3

Answer: 65 degrees

Step-by-step explanation:

If you learned angles, you would know that m∠2 and m∠6 are corresponding angles since it was already given that a║b.

Reasoning: m∠2=m∠6; if m∠2=65, then m∠6=65 as well.
