Let the number be a .... =>Number doubled : 2a .. =>Eight less than the no. Doubled : 2a - 8 =>Eight less than the no. doubled is 20 more than the no. : 2a - 8 = 20 + a =>2a - 8 - 20 - a = 0 =>2a -a - 20 -8 = 0 =>a -28 = 0 =>a = 28 =>so the number is 28... Hope it helps!!!

A farmer finds that he can buy 5 sheep and 5 cows for $129or 10 sheep and 17 cows for $177 .how much will it cost him to buy 3 s
bezimeni [28]
Let the cost of one sheep and one cow be x and y respectively.
Therefore,

5x+5y=129
10x+17y =177

Solving the two equations,
Multiply the first equation by 2 and subtract the second from the results;
10x+10y = 258
10x+17y = 177
0x-7y = 81 => y= $-11.57 (cannot be a negative value). The details of the question need to be checked.

Now,
5x+5y = 129 => 5x-57.86 =129=>5x = 186.86 => x= $37.37

Simplify completely..........
vitfil [10]

Answer:

\frac{x}{x-1}

Step-by-step explanation:

\frac{3x^2 - 1}{x^2 - 1} - \frac{2x + 1}{x + 1}                                          [ \ x^ 2- 1 = (x-1)(x + 1) \ ]

= \frac{3x^2 - 1}{(x-1)(x  + 1 )} - \frac{2x + 1}{x + 1}\\\\=\frac{(3x^2 - 1)-(2x + 1)(x-1)}{(x + 1)(x-1)}                        [\ Taking \ LCM \  ]

= \frac{(3x^2 - 1)- (2x^2 - 2x + x - 1)}{(x+1)(x-1)}\\\\=\frac{3x^2 - 1 - 2x^2 + x + 1 }{(x+1)(x-1)}\\\\=\frac{x^2 +x}{(x+1)(x-1)}\\\\=\frac{x(x+1)}{(x+1)(x-1)}\\\\=\frac{x}{x-1}

<em><u>Finding LCM :</u></em>

Example :

                 \frac{1}{6} + \frac{1}{3}

6 = 2  x   3

3 = 1   x   3

                \frac{1}{2 \times 3} + \frac{1}{ 3} = \frac{1}{2 \times 3} + \frac{1 \times 2}{ 3 \times 2}

[ To make the denominators same : the second fraction is multiplied and divided by 2 ]

Similarly :

 (x^2 - 1 ) = (x -1)(x+1)\\\\(x + 1)  = 1 \times (x + 1)

Same rule we applied : multiplied the numerator and denominator of the second term with ( x - 1 )

Therefore the second term becomes ,

                                       \frac{2x + 1}{x + 1} = \frac{(2x + 1)(x - 1)}{(x + 1)( x - 1)}

Which is a true statement about an exterior angle of a triangle
Harlamova29_29 [7]

Answer:

D

Step-by-step explanation:

The exterior angles are out of the triangle at all times and it adds up to make 180 with anyone of the inside angle of the triangle.

The pair also rests on the same flat/straight line and that makes a pair.

Therefore we can say that it is formed by a linear pair/group with one of the interior/inside angles of the triangle.

So, the correct answer would be D.
