If all were student tickets, revenue would be 12·281 = 3372. It is actually 3954-3372 = 582 more than that. Each adult ticket sold increases revenue by $3, so there must have been 582/3 = 194 adult tickets sold. Then 87 student tickets were sold.

87 student and 194 adult tickets were sold.
