First you'll have to bring the equation in form y = mx + b.

4y = -x - 32
y = -1/4 x - 8

So the slope is -1/4 and y-intercept is -8

Hope this helps :)

\bf 4y=-x-32\implies y=\cfrac{-x-32}{4}\implies y=\cfrac{-x}{4}-\cfrac{32}{4}
\\\\\\
y=\stackrel{slope}{-\cfrac{1}{4}x}~~\stackrel{y-intercept}{-8}\impliedby slope-intercept~form

and that's the reason why is called the slope-intercept form.

What are the two things that happen to water molecules when heat energy is added to air?
yuradex [85]

Answer:

When the heat is raised (for instance, as water is boiled), the higher kinetic energy of the water molecules causes the hydrogen bonds to break completely and allows water molecules to escape into the air as gas. We observe this gas as water vapor or steam.

Find the value of x in the isosceles triangle shown below.
miss Akunina [59]

Answer:

D. x=4

Step-by-step explanation:

We can solve this with the Pythagorean Theorem for the right triangle that we can see (which is half of the triangle).

The bottom length is 3 and the hypotenuse is 5.

The Pythagorean Theorem is a²+b²=c².

We can plug this in:

3²+x²=5²

9+x²=25

x²=16

x=4
