A water molecule is a polar molecule because ot the shape of its molecule. One side of the water molecule is positively charged while the other is negatively charged. The oxygen and the hydrogen atom in water shared electrons by covalent bonding, the oxygen atom has a slight negative charge and attract most of the electron to itself.

Growing plants with cuttings can be done from the stem, root, or leaves of certain plants.
sashaice [31]
It is a true statement. We do this with tomatato plants all the time. If you have ever looked closely at a tomatato plant you will notice tiny hairs on it, each hair can grow a new root system. So I cut it off then place it in a grow seed tray with some support and it grows a whole new plant. You do have to remove the leaves except the very top ones say 15-20 leaves should be left on the plant you want a bare stem up to that. Also works witha variety of ivy plants.

Help pls:

-describe why it is necessary for plants to have chloroplasts
stepan [7]
Plants need to have chloroplasts, because chloroplasts are responsible for converting solar energy into chemical energy. By doing this, the plant is able to perform photosynthesis, which then provides the food energy that the plant needs. Without chloroplasts, the plant would die.

[ANSWER INCLUDING]
Rus_ich [418]

The mother's genotype can be either X^AX^A or X^AX^a.

For X-linked recessive traits, males (XY) can either be affected or free from the disorder, they cannot be carriers. Females (XX), on the other hand, can be affected, unaffected, or be carriers.

The circled male child is free from the disorder (X^AY) while the females are carriers (X^AX^a).

The male inherited the healthy allele, X^A, from the mother.

The female children inherit the affected allele from their father (who is affected for the disorder) and the other healthy allele from their mother.

This means that the mother cannot be affected for the disease. As it is, the pedigree points that all the children got their healthy alleles from their mother. This does not mean the mother has two healthy alleles though.

Thus, the possible genotype of the mother are X^AX^A and X^AX^a.
