The freeze response

Further explanation

Examples of responses or signs as mentioned above are common symptoms of the freeze response as one of the post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Two other important things are the fight or the flight response.
In general, some signs of identification of the freeze response are as follows:
- Freezing up or being unable to move or respond physically.
- Pale and numb skin.
- Limitations or obstacles in breathing.
- Palpitations or even a decrease in heart rate are accompanied by fear of threats during a traumatic event.
- The biggest physical response from freezing is feeling paralyzed or feeling like you are coming out of your body (dissociation).
Freezing responses arise when there is no hope to fight or escape from dangerous situations. This natural response can sometimes be observed in some animals that "play dead" instead of running or fighting.
This is different from the fight or flight response which has one thing in common, namely hope. In a fight or flight response, there is hope that you might get out of danger and return you to your normal state.
