X represents an "unknown" value.

If you are asking for this question to be solved, please see below:

x^2+x^2+9=41\\2x^2+9=41\\2x^2=32\\x^2=16\\x=\pm4

X can equal either positive or negative 4.  This is because when you square a negative, the answer will be positive.

The quotient of a number and -5 is 6. What is the number?
Fofino [41]

Answer:

-30.

Step-by-step explanation:

We are dividing by a negative number to get a positive one, so we need the other number to also be negative.

We can re-write this as -5 * 6

This can be simplified into -30.
