Answer:

(75.31  ,  58.55,   46.14)

Step-by-step explanation:

The known two vectors have three components, i.e, they are vectors at R^{3}. An easy strategy to deal with, it is focused on a product between vectors. Specially, the dot product and with its answer, it is easy to find the requested angles

Firstly, the dot product consists in an overlaping of vector onto the other one. Normaly, the vectors at R^{2} and R^3 are easily operated, but if the dimension is increased, let say R^{4} or R^{5}, it is a must to use another strategy. For now,  the dot product can be understood as a multiplication of every single component  and then it sums the components in order to have the value of the overlapping. Some properties of this product are beneficial to algebraic purposes, then bear in mind: i\cdot i=1, j\cdot j=1, k\cdot k=1 and  i\cdot j=0, j\cdot k=0, k\cdot i=0

Therein, there are two formal definitions of dot product, either

a\cdot b= |a||b|cos(\theta_{ab})

or

a\cdot b= ai\cdot bi + aj\cdot bj +ak\cdot bk

When the product is equal to zero means the vectors are perpendicular between each other, otherwise they are not , With above definitions, it is convenient to use the second definition and then it will be used the first one. as follows

Part a. Calculation of the length on vector "a"

|a|=\sqrt{1^{2}+(-1)^{2}+4^2}=\sqrt(18)

Part b. Calculation of the length on vector "a"

|b|=\sqrt{1^{2}+(2)^{2}+3^2}=\sqrt(14)

This procedures are related to the equation of the line segment. Now, using the second definition of dot product, it is calculated the overlapping between the two vectos, thus,

a\cdot b=(i, -j, 4k) \cdot (i, 2j, 3k)= (i\cdot i,  -j\cdot2j , 4k\cdot3k)= (1-2+12)=11

These results are replaced in the first definion of the dot product, but the cosine function must be separated, thus,

cos^-1(\theta_{ab})=cos^-1(\frac{a\cdot b}{|a||b|} )=cos^-1(\frac{11}{\sqrt{14}\sqrt{18}} ) \\\theta_{ab}=46.14

This is the first angle required by the exercise!

It will be convenient to recall the calculated angle as C=46.14 and it is related between the vector a and b. To calculate the angles between the line segment connecting the their endpoints and the implied vectors, the law of cosines would be ideal technique to determine it, thus

a^{2}=b^2+c^2-2bc *cos(\theta_{ab})\\b^{2}=a^2+c^2-2ac *cos(\theta_{ca})\\c^{2}=a^2+b^2-2ab *cos(\theta_{ab})

The above equations allows to calculate the requested angles and the length if it is required. The first and the second equations provides the angles between the line segment and vector a. Also provides the angle between the line segment and vector b. The third one equation will be useful to calculate the length of the line segment. Use the following expression as follows

For the length,

c=\sqrt{(\sqrt{18})^2+(\sqrt{14})^2-2\sqrt{14}\sqrt{18}*cos(46.14)}=3.1624

For the angles

cos(\theta_{ac})=\frac{a ^2-b^2-c^2}{-2bc} \\cos^-1(\theta_{ac})=\frac{(\sqrt{18}) ^2-(\sqrt{14})^2-(3.1624)^2}{-2*\sqrt{14}*3.1624} \\\\\theta_{ac}=75.31

Using exactly the same procedure, the angle between b and c is calculated, but keep in mind the values, thus

cos(\theta_{bc})=\frac{b ^2-a^2-c^2}{-2ac} \\cos^-1(\theta_{ac})=\frac{(\sqrt{14}) ^2-(\sqrt{18})^2-(3.1624)^2}{-2*\sqrt{18}*3.1624} \\\\\theta_{ac}=58.55

To prove if thecalculated values were right, then it is convenient to sum all of them and if its sum is equal to 180 degrees means the calculations are well done, thus

58.55+46.14+75.31=180

Prove!

In addition of this calculation an attachment is included in which geometrical view is introduced.

Iteru [2.4K]

Answer: A

Step-by-step explanation: If you subtract each price by the price lower then it. Ex: $19.95 - $15.96 = $3.99, $15.96 - $11.97 = $3.99 and so on. They all equal $3.99.

A rectangular enclosure is to be created using 82m rope.
atroni [7]
Let
x-----> the length of rectangle
y-----> the width of rectangle

we know that
perimeter of rectangle=2*[x+y]
perimeter of rectangle=82 m
82=2*[x+y]---> divide by 2 both sides---> 41=x+y--> y=41-x---> equation 1

Area of rectangle=x*y
substitute equation 1 in the area formula
Area=x*[41-x]----> 41x-x²

using a graph tool
see the attached figure

the vertex is the point (20.5,420.25)
that means
 for x=20.5 m ( length of rectangle)
the area is 420.25 m²

y=420.25/20.5----> 20.5 m

the dimensions are
20.5 m x 20.5 m------> is a square

the answer part 1)
<span>the dimensions of the rectangular with Maximum area is a square with length side 20.5 meters
</span>
Part 2)<span>b) Suppose 41 barriers each 2m long, are used instead. Can the same area be enclosed?
</span>divide the length side of the square by 2
so
20.5/2=10.25--------> 10 barriers
the dimensions are 10 barriers x 10 barriers
10 barriers=10*2---> 20 m

the area enclosed with barriers is =20*20----> 400 m²

400 m² < 420.25 m²
so

the answer Part 2) is
<span>the area enclosed by the barriers is less than the area enclosed by the rope
</span>
Part 3)<span>How much more area can be enclosed if the rope is used instead of the barriers
</span>
area using the rope=420.25 m²
area using the barriers=400 m²

420.25-400=20.25 m²

the answer part 3) is
20.25 m²

I. Decrease in length increases leads to increase in pitch.

II. Increase in tension leads to increase in pitch.

III. Increase in linear density reduces the pitch

Step-by-step explanation: I. Since the frequency is inversely proportional to the length increase in length leads to decrease in frequency likewise decrease in length leads to increase in frequency.

II. Since the frequency is directly proportional to the square root of the tension increase in tension leads to increase in frequency likewise decrease in tension leads to decrease in frequency.

III.since the frequency is inversely proportional to the square root of the linear density so increase in linear density leads to decrease in frequency and likewise decrease in linear density leads to increase in frequency.
