The statement is true. The male and female embryos anatomically look same at five weeks of pregnancy.

In the 4th week of pregnancy the blastocysts gets implanted in the walls of uterus and develops into the placenta and then becomes an embryo. The embryo is considered starting from the point when the amniotic sac develops which is at the starting of the 5th week of pregnancy. By the 12th week of pregnancy the organs are developed such as arms and legs but the brain and spinal cord keeps developing throughout the pregnancy.

The second trimester begins at the 13th week of the pregnancy and by the 14th week the gender can be identified. So the male and female embryos are anatomically same at 5th week of the pregnancy.

A second action potential cannot be generated until ________.
Bingel [31]

Answer:

"Action potential is a rapid rise and subsequent fall in voltage or membrane potential across a cellular membrane with a characteristic pattern."

It is the mode through which a neuron transports electrical signals.

Explanation:

 • Option - (a) is the best choice to choose from,
 • The refractory period :

A second action potential cannot occur until the membrane has recovered or reestablished, this is the refractory period. The absolute refractory period coincides with inactivation of voltage-gated sodium channels which makes it impossible to generate another nerve impulse.

Which of the following statements about the import of protein to the nucleus is correct? Choose all that apply.
dem82 [27]

The correct statements are:

•An NLS can be a monopartite or bipartite signal which includes a significant number of basic amino acids.

• The recycling of importins back to their original conformation requires GTP hydrolysis in the cytoplasm.

The other answers are incorrect because GTP is not required for an importin to bind to an NLS but for the release of importin and an NES or nuclear export signal is the sequence in a protein for export from the cell nucleus to the cytoplasm, not to the nucleolus.
