can you answer with explanation how its answer is 0.63?? Aja's favorite cereal is running a promotion that says 1-in-4 boxes of

the cereal contain a prize. Suppose that Aja is going to buy 5 boxes of this cereal, and let X represent the number of prizes she wins in these boxes. Assume that these boxes represent a random sample, and assume that prizes are independent between boxes. What is the probability that she wins at most 1 prize in the 5 boxes

Let n = total boxes (5)

Probability (p) = 1 out of 4 = 1/4 = 0.25

Probability she wins at most 1 out of 5 is p(x <=1) Which is also = p (x =0) + p(x=1)

Probability of not winning would be 0.75 ( 1-0.25)

No prizes in 5 boxes = 0.75^5

1 prize in 5 boxes = 5 x 0.25 x 0.75^4

Total probability = 0.75^5 + 5 x 0.25 x 0.75^4 = 0.63

56 pages/4 hours = 126 pages/x pages
Then you cross multiply
56*x =4*126 ---> 56x=504
Then you divide 56 to both sides
56x/56=504/56
The 56 cancels on the left side and then you get
x=9

So your proportion are:
56 pages/4hours=126 pages/9 hours

digit at tens place of two digit number is twice the digit at units place .if sum of this number and the no.formed by reversing
Dima020 [189]
Let the number be     xy ,

xy = 10x + y.   when reversed = yx = 10y + x

x = 2y          ........(a)

10x + y + 10y + x = 66.........(b)

10(2y) + y + 10y + 2y = 66

20y + y + 10y + 2y = 66

33y = 66

y = 66/33

y = 2

x = 2y = 2*2 = 4

Recall the original number is xy =     42.
