The town where Sanjay and his family live wants to cut back on their use of non-renewable resources at home. The town is located

in Texas. The town's people want to cut their dependency on non-renewable resources. They also want to minimize the amount of particulate matter they put into the atmosphere. Texas is one of the leading states in wind power, but the town wants to add other renewable, non-polluting, energy resources to their energy plan. Solar, geothermal and hydropower (such as tidal power) energy resources fit the bill.

Solar, geothermal, and hydropower (such as tidal power) energy resources are forms of renewable energy that can be used continuously (never runs out) and can be replaced naturally. These energy resources are also non-polluting. Solar energy is obtained from the sun using panels which are then converted in different ways. Solar energy can be used to generate electricity. Geothermal energy is derived from the heat stored in the earth’s surface while tidal energy is a type of hydropower that converts the energy derived from ocean tides into electricity.

In the reaction ______ H2 + N2 ----> 2 NH3, what coefficient should be placed in front of H2 to balance the reaction?
schepotkina [342]

2NH3 is equivalent to N2 + H6 since the 2 at the beginning gets distributed to both atoms. Knowing this you can rewite the equation as

H2 + N2 = H6 + N2

The N2 can cancel out leaving

H2 = H6

You now have to ask ‘2 times what equals 6?’ The answer is obviously 3 at this point.
