Hi,

Work:

\frac{2}{3x} + 6 = \frac{1}{2} + \frac{1}{4x}

1. Move expression 1/4x to the left side and change its sign, also move constant -6 to the right side and change its sign. Now you equation looks like this:

\frac{2}{3x} - \frac{1}{4x} = \frac{1}{2} - 6

2. Write all numerators above the least common denominator 12x.

\frac{5}{12x} = \frac{1}{2} - 6

3. Calculate the difference between 1/2 and 6.

\frac{5}{12x} = - \frac{11}{2}

4. Simplify equation using cross multiplication.

10 = - 132x

5. Switch the sides of equation.

- 132x = 10

6. Divide both sides of equation by -132.

x = - \frac{5}{66}

7. Results:

x = - \frac{5}{66} = - 0.075

Hope this helps.

To solve the problem you must apply the corresponding formulas for calculate the area of each figure. Therefore, you have:

 1-A cube where the length of each edge is 4 inches: <span>96 square inches
</span><span> A=6a^2=96 inches^2
 2- A triangular prism where the area of each base is about 20 square inches, the length of each side of the base is 6 inches, and the height of the prism is 2 inches: </span><span>76 square inches.</span><span>
 3- A square pyramid with a base length and slant height of 5 inches: 75</span><span> square inches.
</span><span>A=2(5)(5)+5^2=75 inches^2
 4- A rectangular prism with a length of 5 inches, a width of 4 inches, and a height of 3 inches:</span>94 square inches .
 A=2(4x5+3x5+3x4)=94 inches^2

A building supply company sells sand by the cubic yard. The price of one cubic yard of sand is $33.75. What do you think the pri
myrzilka [38]

Answer:

<u>$911.25</u>

Step-by-step explanation:

We know:

1 yd = 3 feet

So, 1 cubic yards should be *THREE* times the power of what the initial scale factor is, 3 cubed. That would make it:

1 yd = 3 feet

1^3 yd = 3^3 feet

1 cu. yd. = 27 cu. ft.

That means, the price of 1 cubic feet of sand is 27 times of the price of 1 cubic yd price

33.75 * 27 = <u>$911.25</u>
