Mathematics

Answer:

B. a=14,b=2

Step-by-step explanation:

We have been given a function g(x)=14\cdot 2^x. We are asked to find the amount a and the growth factor b in the exponential function.

We know that an exponential function is in form y=a\cdot b^x, where,

y = Final amount.

a = Initial amount,

b = Growth factor,

x = Time

Upon comparing our given graph with exponential growth function, we can see that the initial value (a) is 14 and growth factor is 2.

Therefore, option B is the correct choice.

Which is the correct answer ?????
Damm [24]
<h3>Answer:  True</h3>

Explanation:

Technically you could isolate any variable you wanted, from either equation. However, convention is to pick the variable in which isolating it is easiest, and most efficient.

The key thing to look for is if there's a coefficient of 1. This is found in the second equation for the y term. Think of -4x+y = -13 as -4x+1y = -13. Due to the coefficient of 1, when solving for y we won't involve messy fractions.

If you were to solve for y, then you'd get y = 4x-13, which is then plugged in (aka substituted) into the first equation. That allows you to solve for x. Once you know x, you can determine y.

Can u please help me with this math assignment
Troyanec [42]
Hard to read sideways but what I got from that is that you have a right triangle and you are trying to explain the other angles?
Both of the other two angles would be 45 because an angle is 180 total. If it is a right angle, that means that there is a 90 degree angle. 180-90=90. In a right angle, the other two angles are the same in degree. Therefor 90/2 is 45. 45 applies to both of the acute angles. I hope this helps! Good luck :)

Jane is playing a game in which he spins a spinner with 6 equal-sized slices numbered 1 through 6. The spinner stops on a number
sleet_krkn [62]

Answer:

The expected value of playing the game is $0.75.

Step-by-step explanation:

The expected value of a random variable is the weighted average of the random variable.

The formula to compute the expected value of a random variable <em>X</em> is:

E(X)=\sum x\cdot P(X=x)

The random variable <em>X</em> in this case can be defined as the amount won in playing the game.

The probability distribution of <em>X</em> is as follows:

Number on spinner:   1           2           3          4           5              6

Amount earned (<em>X</em>):   $1        $4         $7        $10     -$8.75     -$8.75

Probability:                 1/6       1/6         1/6        1/6         1/6           1/6

Compute the expected value of <em>X</em> as follows:

E(X)=\sum x\cdot P(X=x)

         =(1\times \frac{1}{6})+(4\times \frac{1}{6})+(7\times \frac{1}{6})+(10\times \frac{1}{6})+(-8.75\times \frac{1}{6})+(-8.75\times \frac{1}{6})

         =\frac{1}{6}+\frac{4}{6}+\frac{7}{6}+\frac{10}{6}-\frac{8.75}{6}-\frac{8.75}{6}

         =\frac{1+4+7+10-8.75-8.75}{6}

         =0.75

Thus, the expected value of playing the game is $0.75.

Mr. Evans is paid $9. 20 per hour for the first 40 hours he works in a week. He is paid 1. 5 times that rate for each hour after
Dmitry_Shevchenko [17]
No, he almost earns $400
9.20 / 1.5 = 6.13
9.20 - 6.13 = 3.07
9.20 + 3.07 = 12.27
12.27 x 2.25 =  27.61
9.20 x 40 = 368
368 + 27.61 = 395.61
Mr. Evans earned $395.61 for 42.25 hrs.
